Rhythms ("we", "us", or "our") is a faith-based mobile app for daily Bible reading, habit tracking, an AI companion, and community challenges. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Rhythms, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Account data

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifiers Apple provides (and your email, unless you choose to hide it). We use this information to create and secure your account, authenticate you, and communicate with you about the service.

Habit and Bible-reading data

To provide the core experience, we store the habits you create, your daily check-ins and streaks, the Bible reading plans you build, your reading progress, preferred Bible translation, and related activity. This content is tied to your account so your progress syncs across sessions.

AI companion (OpenAI)

When you chat with the in-app AI companion, the messages you send are processed byOpenAI to generate a response. We send your message content (and limited conversation context) to OpenAI's API for this purpose. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in companion chats. SeeOpenAI's privacy policy.

Purchases and subscriptions

Rhythms offers a Premium subscription. Mobile in-app purchases are processed through Apple App Store and Google Play, and managed via RevenueCat, which tracks your subscription and entitlement status on our behalf. Web purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full payment card details — those are handled directly by Apple, Google, or Stripe. We receive purchase and subscription status (for example, whether you have an active entitlement) to unlock Premium features. Email communications

We use SendGrid to send transactional emails such as account verification codes, password reset links, and welcome messages. To do this we share your email address and message content with SendGrid. SeeSendGrid/Twilio's privacy policy.

Community challenges

If you join community challenges or post to the social feed, the content you choose to share (such as posts and any images you upload) may be visible to other participants.

How we use your information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app's features.

  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.

  • Sync your habits, reading plans, and progress across sessions.

  • Process subscriptions and unlock Premium features.

  • Send transactional emails you request or that are required to operate the service.

  • Respond to support requests and protect against fraud or abuse.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers described above (OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Stripe, and SendGrid) so they can perform services on our behalf, and when required by law or to protect our rights and users. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

Data retention

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

  • Access, update, or correct your account information from within the app.

  • Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

  • Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple, Google, or Stripe account.

  • Opt out of non-essential emails where applicable.

Children's privacy

Rhythms is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the app.
